Exit Windows using keyboard
To do this, follow these simple steps:
- Activate desktop by either clicking on it or pressing
Windows+Don your keyboard
- Choose what should Windows do: Shut down, restart, sleep, hibernate, log off or switch user
To lock Windows or switch user, you can always press
Windows+L. (Desktop focusing not needed.)
On Dell laptops, you may not have direct access to function keys. In such cases, in step two, you must press
Fn+Alt+F4 instead. Alternatively, direct access to function keys may be enabled. See your laptop user manual for details.
